Remini errors and fixes: start with the safest check

Installation, login, upload and processing failures can have different causes. Work through the relevant section in order and change one thing at a time. Back up original photos before clearing app data, uninstalling an app or moving files.

Android installation

APK will not install

“App not installed” message

Confirm that the file finished downloading, the Android version is compatible and enough storage is available. A conflicting signature from an existing build can also block installation. Do not remove a working app until important data is backed up.

“There was a problem parsing the package”

The file may be incomplete, damaged or built for a different Android version or processor. Download again from the same verified source and compare the displayed file size or checksum when one is provided.

Browser cannot open the APK

Check whether the download completed and open it from the Downloads or Files app. Android may require temporary permission for that specific browser or file manager to install unknown apps.

Play Protect or security warning appears

Stop and review the warning, source, requested permissions and file information. Do not disable protection simply to force an unfamiliar file to run. A modified APK is not the official Play Store package.

After installation:

Turn off unknown-app installation permission for the browser or file manager. Review the app’s permissions before selecting private photographs.

Uploads and cloud processing

Enhancement is stuck or fails

1

Check the connection

Switch between stable Wi-Fi and mobile data. Pause a problematic VPN or restrictive network filter temporarily, then retry with an ordinary test photo.

2

Try a smaller clean copy

A very large, damaged or unusual file can fail to upload. Export a standard JPEG copy while keeping the original untouched.

3

Free storage and memory

Close unused apps, restart the device and confirm that there is room for both temporary processing data and a new export.

4

Update through the appropriate source

For official apps, check the current store listing. For another build, verify compatibility before replacing a version that already works.

Accounts and subscriptions

Login, credits or subscription problems

ProblemSafe first action
Login loopCorrect device date and time, allow required cookies, restart the app and use the same sign-in method as before.
Credits did not refreshCheck the account, connection and current plan screen. Avoid repeated purchases while a transaction is pending.
Paid plan not recognizedUse the store’s restore-purchases control and confirm that the same Apple or Google account is active.
Unexpected renewalReview subscriptions in the relevant App Store or Google Play account and use its cancellation controls.

A modified package can behave differently from the official app and may not support official account or purchase systems. Never enter payment details into an unfamiliar screen.

Unnatural output

Result looks fake, smooth or distorted

AI processing can reconstruct features that were unclear in the source. Try the cleanest original, make the face larger in the frame without heavy upscaling and use a lighter enhancement when available. One careful pass is usually easier to verify than several strong passes.

EYES

Different expression

Return to the original and use the result only as a visual interpretation, not an identity reference.

SKIN

Plastic texture

Reduce repeated processing and finish with a less aggressive export.

EDGE

Halos or doubled shapes

Use a higher-quality source and inspect glasses, hair, hands and background borders.

TEXT

Broken writing

AI photo enhancers are not reliable text-restoration tools. Read names and dates from the original scan.

Quick answers

Remini troubleshooting FAQs

Should I clear app data?

Use it only after simpler checks because it can sign you out and remove local settings. Back up important exports first.

Why does the same photo fail repeatedly?

The file may be damaged, unusually encoded or too large. Create a standard JPEG copy and keep the original untouched.

Can an old version fix every problem?

No. An older build may improve compatibility on one device but can introduce security, login or service-connection problems.

When should I stop troubleshooting?

Stop if a file requests unrelated permissions, a security warning cannot be explained or the source cannot be verified.
